The Night Huntress series begins: half-vampire, all hunter, and the vampire she was trying to stake who turns her into his operative instead. Frost writes the dark paranormal with the premise inverted — the hunter becomes the weapon, the enemy becomes the partner, and halfway to the grave is the position they're both maintaining on their way to something else.
