Quick start

Requests use GET, answer in JSON over HTTPS, and send CORS headers, so they work straight from a browser.

Lists and filters books. Returns books, total, pages and page.

`search`	Free-text search
`subgenre`	Subgenre slug, such as `mafia-mob-romance`
`trope`	Trope slug, from `/taxonomies`
`author`	Author slug, such as `h-d-carlton`
`spice_min`, `spice_max`	Spice range, 1–5
`darkness_min`, `darkness_max`	Darkness range, 1–5
`orderby`	`newest` (default), `bestseller` or `score`
`per_page`	Results per page, up to 48 (default 24)
`page`	Page number

Every subgenre and trope with its slug and book count. Use these slugs in the filters above.

Field	Meaning
`id`, `slug`, `title`	Identifiers and title
`author`, `authors`	Main author, and all authors with slugs
`spice`, `darkness`	1–5 ratings. `0` means not rated yet
`subgenres`	Subgenre names and slugs
`cover`, `cover_lg`	Cover image URLs
`permalink`	The book’s page on Readark
`buy_url`	Amazon link. It is an affiliate link: Readark earns from qualifying purchases

The scales are defined on How We Rate. Ratings are machine-assisted with editorial review, so treat them as a guide.

Free to use. Please credit Readark with a visible link to readark.app wherever you show the ratings.
Keep it to about one request a second, and cache what you can.
The catalogue is adult fiction. Some titles and themes are not suitable for under-18s.
Covers belong to their publishers and authors, so check your rights before reusing them.
