Why we recommend it
Lake writes the eldritch romance at its most genuinely alien — the supernatural here isn't humanized, the darkness is cosmic in scale, and the romance between a human woman and something fundamentally Other carries the weight of that asymmetry through every page. For readers who want their dark romantasy truly unsettling.
